Carss Bush Park is located on the foreshore of Kogarah Bay, off Carwar Avenue, Carrs Park, Sydney.

Unique features:

Waterside bay with intertidal swimming area including a small stretch of sand. Location includes park and bush settings.

This is a spacious Park with different areas so you can be far enough away from other park goers when you drop to one knee. I also had a recommendation of Oatley Park for added privacy.

Carss Park Cafe and Grill is located within the park. Along with great meals they serve alcohol for your post proposal toast, plus there is an adjoining kiosk for takeaway food and coffee. See our blog posts on creating the perfect gourmet picnic basket or order a gourmet hamper though the Sydney Picnic Company

There is a fabulous Stone Cottage on the point overlooking the bay. You need to drive right to the end of Carwar Avenue to see what I am talking about. There is a carpark on the left hand side of the road as you approach the  public swimming pool just before the cottage. On the day I visited, a wedding ceremony was in progress so I didn't take any pictures (out of respect) but you can check it out by clicking on Carss Cottage Carss Bush Park .

What you need to know:

You will need to apply for access to have the area at the point (past the cottage) for your use only as it is a popular Wedding ceremony location. On writing this, a permit to have the area for your own use was approximately $150.

Check the tides though if you want to stroll hand in hand along the sandy bayside.

What makes this place rock:

Something different! Less hectic then the eastern suburbs beach side locations and alot more space to "do your own thing." These photos were taken on a Saturday and the date also happened to fall on the same day as  Christmas Carols in Carss Bush Park.

As you can see from the pictures below it still feels like you have privacy in this picturesque Sydney park location, even thought it can still be quite busy at times.
